Unique Manufacturing Technique
Traditional string art is made by hand, where a person follows a pre-made sequence for hours at a time. To avoid needless human labour and create premium art without the premium price tag, my art is strung by the machine I designed and built.

Why isn't StringBoard threaded by hand?
Threading a string art piece by hand typically takes about 5 or more hours. In order to provide a high quality piece for a fair price, it is not reasonable to string by hand, especially since my pieces have more lines than most string art (about 4000). By automating the stringing I'm able to put more care and attention into the rest of the process. Handmade string art is available to buy, however it is either extremely expensive, or it uses cheap labour.
What materials do you use?
The board is made from MDF (medium density fibreboard), which is a versatile wooden composite, excellent for gripping nails and super strong and rigid. I use a nice thick piece to give room for nails. The thread is a 0.1mm nylon monofilament, which gives a super delicate and detailed look. The nails are 30mm long 1.5mm diameter galvanised nails. They are super solid and also nice and shiny, so they frame the art beautifully.
Where should I hang it?
String art looks best when viewed from a slight distance, and it needs some ambient lighting to highlight details. You could hang it by a doorway or window, or shine a light onto it. Wherever you choose to place it, this is an attention grabbing piece of art.
What if it's broken when it arrives?
The board is wrapped carefully in bubble wrap packaged in a double ply telescopic cardboard box, and the nails are very firmly secured in the board (I use woodworking nails). In the unlikely event that a board is broken or damaged or the thread has come out, I will require a photo within 48 hours of delivery. Then I will offer either a full refund OR a remake of the board (with shipping included in both options). The full refund policy can be found here.
