I'm Will - I designed and built the machine and software that produces these pieces. String art isn't new, but I've created a process that makes it from any image with a level of accuracy that wasn't possible before.

I take a limited number of commissions each month - portraits, pets, couples, logos, and anything else that suits the medium.

How it's made

I hammer the nails into each board by hand, then I use my custom-built machine to lay down the thread. There is no paint or ink to form the images - just thread and tension. Each piece uses 200 nails and typically about 4000 lines of thread (over 1.5km!).
